As A Man Thinketh By James Allen
All Success Thinking Starts Here, February 26, 2007
Reviewer: K. S Fitzgerald
This is a must read, a classic upon which all modern day success thinking programs, thinkers, books, etc build upon. While the language is clearly dated, having been written in the late 1800's, the ideas it promotes are timeless. Reading it will not only inspire but also offers a glance back in time when prosperity thinking was emerging in the industrialized world.

This e-book is the electronic version of a book written a long time ago by James Allen, but this doesn't at all make it irrelevant or obsolete for present-day life and situations. For more on James Allen, the beginning of the e-book takes up one page to introduce the author. It's basically a self-help book and it really pushes you to improve your personality and become a better person. It's not written in easy terms or in a brief and abrupt manner, nor does it attempt to psychologize the reader, but serves more as a source of inspiration that you really should sit back, absorb, and contemplate upon. It's a worthwhile product to download, plus all twenty-eight pages should help you get yourself focused and prepared when embarking on your business. Just consider this one as a nice break from all the online marketing resources you've been poring over lately.

As A Man Thinketh By James Allen
The right foundations, August 25, 2007
In this classic converted to e-book form, James Allen shows just how powerful your thoughts can be to change your life and circumstances. His advice is probably the earlier version of the saying, “You become what you think about most.” Allen shows how, through thought, people can “ascend to divine perfection” or “descend below the level of the beast.”
In showing the effect of thoughts on circumstances, Allen uses an analogy of planting in the garden. Your thought is the seed. So what you sow, you reap. Allen shows how thought leads to habit, and habit to circumstance.
Allen also inspires awe of the human mind and soul by saying “Man can find every truth connected with his being, if he will dig deep into the mine of his soul.” Allen also shows how you can achieve your dreams by combining thought with purpose.
It is perfectly understandable that James Allen’s work influenced contemporary writers, thinkers and motivational speakers like Denis Waitley and Jim Rohn. Allen’s ideas are one of the foundations of the ongoing “mind revolution” today.

The first step off the I-hate-me treadmill., November 12, 2007

Everything you need to get your jaw to drop is encapsulated by the line, “Man is made or unmade by himself.”
We all need an inspirational tome on some days. And for this day, this is my inspirational tome. I had been needing something akin to The Secret to give to a special someone, and this.. This was the answer to my prayer.
While the language is dated, while I have to admit that the “you are the master of your own fate” mantra certainly does not sit well with my beliefs, I believe that some of the principles here would be helpful to people who sincerely want to get away from the treadmill of self-flagellation and self-crucifixion.
Even today’s religious leaders already recognize the need for a person to train his or her thoughts to the positive, that a majority of a person’s counseling needs (for the pastoral counselors) actually stem from his or her own self-loathing and negative thinking.
It is certainly fascinating to get to read the root of Norman Vincent Peale’s paradigms. I know this will help people take the first step from negative thinking.
