They are products that, if you are their producer, you would be giving others the right to actually brand those products as their own: modify the content a little, add their own personal brand on these, then sell the product off as their own.

What I loved about this was the parallel between the Private Label Rights industry and the chemical industry. The use of a real-world example gives the reader an idea that this venture/strategy could actually be applied to the real world.
