Interesting Strategy, March 09, 2007 |
| Reviewer: Jeremy Gislason |
The report itself is a list of tools Mike uses and his comments for each one.
While it's good to see the pros and cons and Mike has experience using all these tools, many of these are pretty common and some are also on the SFW Cool Tools page.
Good list for a newbie to use but for an experienced marketer I'd say it could've used more meat. Maybe results that he got using these tools and case studies etc. would have been helpful.
In addition, 90% of these are just tools, not resources such as programmers, copyrighters, lawyers, JV brokers, Affiliate managers, SEO experts and other services you might want to hire out on contract basis.
I did find the fulfillment resources useful.
This is a good way for you to study marketing tactics though. Sign up and go through the process, also notice the links used in the report itself.
Take notes:) (You will also see why so many marketers are promoting this report after you sign up.)
What do you all think about this one? |

Barely worth the download......, March 09, 2007 |
| Reviewer: Stuart H. |
If you're looking for a report with any
meat on it, don't waste your time with
this one.
Yeah, there's a few useful links in
there, but nothing that, in my opinion,
you can't easily find yourself, with
little to no effort - without affiliates
links embedded.
Much like 'Death of Internet Marketing',
this appears to be nothing more than
just another blatant list building
attempt, though by far one of his
weakest to date......

Stuart Halpryn

Tips for the rich?, March 09, 2007 |
| Reviewer: Mieke Janssens |
I really like the idea of s.o. listing the resources he/she has been using to achieve online success, so I started reading the moment I got my hands on it.
I think Mike has done a good job. The report is straight to the point, yet it contains a lot of useful info.
It's a shame many of the recommended programs are pretty expensive. I just can't afford buying them, and I guess this will be the same for many others....
Greetz!

Valuable Resource, March 09, 2007 |
| Reviewer: Rebecca Quinn |
Jeremy, to answer your question as to whether this is a valuable resource or just affiliate commissions for Mike, it may be both. I don't doubt that he gets his commissions, however in my quick read yesterday I learned two things of significance. My issues this week are domain registrations and web software.
One, the section on domain registration is something I will look into in depth as I don't want any registrar controlling my domain names. I haven't used GoDaddy and won't necessarily use the company Mike recommends but I now know I need to check out my domain registrar for their policies.
Two, I found out about NVU, a free web building software program. This alone saved me a couple hundred dollars as I was planning to purchase something this week, and I expect to download several copies, so the savings will add up.
And I'll probably find more useful info once I look into the report further and click on the links for the other catagories. I believe this report will save me lots of time I would have spent researching. Maybe experienced marketers will not find it as valuable but I say it stays. |

An exercise in list building, March 09, 2007 |
| Reviewer: Ghulam Nabi Rezbi |
I feel the information Mike has provided here is very much the same he has provided elsewhere with his various programs. This seems to be a way to further increase the size of his list.
You can't really blame him but, at the same time, for a site such as this which is designed as a member site, I feel such a product is inappropriate. Just my personal opinion. |

Too many programs which are expensive and lots of affiliate links in there which makes me dislike it even more.
Nothing I didn't know, waste of time really.
I think Mike is losing it now throwing out crap like this. |

Better for Mike than for us..., March 10, 2007 |
| Reviewer: Dan Levy |
About five years back, I was asked to review a new publication by a well-known marketer (me, and about a thousand other people). The publication was little more than an excuse to publish over 400 affiliate links.
... while not nearly that bad, this is what "The Resource Report" reminded me of. I''ve known of Mike Filsaime for a while now. He has helped people make money. But, this time it seems like he is in it for himself.
OK, tirade over,
That said....
If you have been marketing on the Net for a while, you probably know about most of these resources.
If you are new to the marketing business, you will find some services in the report that you will want to try. I have been using some of them for many years.
For everyone with a website, ezine, or list of any kind to promote to, there's an affiliate program for you to make some money, too.
Question is this, would you rather send your list to a report of services "some other guy uses," or to a report of services that YOU use?

Speed Past GO! Collect Your Resource!, March 10, 2007 |
| Reviewer: Kosta Efstathiou |
Pros:
Giveaway Rights.
Cons:
Not his complete Rolodex.
No website or promotional materials.
Bottom Line:
It's a good collection of 70+ resources covering almost every topic an internet market has or will use in their successful business. Great for everyone except the over season salted internet marketing Deity.

Old made new?, March 12, 2007 |
| Reviewer: Todd Strait |
I suppose this might be a useful report for someone brand new but quite honestly, I found no new "gems" in this report that I wasn't already aware of.
I have a lot of respect for Mike, but is his "think tank" getting dry to put somehitng like this out when he has done some really great copy over time in the past?
Unless you are brand new to IM'ing, I would suggest passing on this one...just another list creator. |

| I will not submit a extra email address to this guy because for some reason if I do the number of lists of his I belong to keeps growing. |

The report would have been useful for someone just starting out. The most interesting part was about Godaddy and how difficult some domain registrars can be.

Don't you have enough people on your lists!, March 12, 2007 |
I have a lot of respect for Mike, he's an honest and giving marketer - but this was a pure list building exercise. The info was good to look at - if only for highlighting the sheer breadth of resources you need to have to compete in this market.
The sheer list of affiliate links left me feeling a little used!
There was no real meat though and it left me a little disappointed in all. Someone of Mike's caliabre and wealth can do a lot better. Time to give back a bit more I think Mike! |

Mike Filsaime's Resource Report, March 16, 2007 |
| I got ahold of this report a couple weeks ago and found it very useful, even if it is full of affiliate links. So what? I found a couple resources of which I was not previously aware, and have been using them. |

Hmm, personally, I don't really see what the big problem is with this e-book. It does say that it lists down and reviews the tools and sites recommended by the author, even admitting that the reviews might be biased. Although I would agree that it's not exactly original and not up to par with the author's other works. After all, anyone can do a review of websites and software and pass it off as this great and super amazing e-book.
That issue aside, as a review and list of resources, this one doesn't fail to deliver. The quality of each resource is described by the author well enough, with some comments based on his own experiences with each one. It's actually pretty decent and is bound to be of great to help anyone getting started with websites. You don't have to agree with what it says, of course, but remember to check out the links as well to see for yourself. |
