Q. Please tell us a little about your background. Process Engineer in the Plastic Injection Molding industry for 20+ years. Have lived in Europe back in the 80's with my wife and children. My wife is from the Netherlands. I enjoy everything computers and internet plus a half dozen other hobbies that I cover on my website.
Q. What made you decide to start a website in the field? Something new and different to do. Wanted to learn how.
Q. What kind of research went into this niche area before building your website? Only my lifes experiences are in this niche so I guess my life became the niche. I am however building on the injection molding area of the site which is new, along with my wife's custom machine embroidery business.
Q. How did you design and build your website? MS Frontpage. It was the first program I ever learned and just stuck with it.
Q. What software do you use to run your business? None
Q. How does your website generate income? Adsense currently...and a small amount of newly generated business from the embroidery business that just launched.
Q. How do you collect payments for your products or services? Direct deposit from Google for adsense and various for the embroidery business.
Q. What promotion methods do you use? Still working on that one :O)
Q. Which method has proven to give you the best sales results? Good content, keyword selection and use, which has given me good search engine placement for the phrases I'm optimized for.
Q. Which method of traffic generation has proven to be the best for you? Search engines...
Q. What is your biggest challenge each month? Finding ways to stay true to my content goals and increase the adsense revenues.
Q. What's the biggest mistake you've made since starting your business? Waiting two years before optimizing my adsense on the site this past March...arrgh!
Q. How has your lifestyle changed since you started your online business? Hasn't so far except time spent writing articles for content.

Q. What would you say to someone looking to start a website in the same niche as you? Write about what you enjoy. I would rather use information I enjoy writing about, so it's worth it to me to stay within my passions for what I like.
