Interview By: Jeremy Gislason
Interview Date: 28-Jun-08

Q. Please tell us a little about your background.
I'm a teacher and musician by profession and have created several niche sites to supplement my income, including a website promoting my media composition (www.alanjmoore.com).

Q. What made you decide to start a website in the field?
I was aware that there are many professionals who are working long hours and building up dangerous levels of stress in their lives. The WillYouRelax? site is an attempt to provide tools to help folks relax, thus improving the quality of their home and work lives.

Q. What kind of research went into this niche area before building your website?
Keywords research (Wordtracker, Google) and market research from forums, websites and newsletters, etc.

Q. How did you design and build your website?
The site is a Wordpress blog built by 'Authority Site Center' with their custom plugin pack and members software tools.

Q. What software do you use to run your business?
Wordpress and I also use XSitePro, Filezilla for FTP.

Q. How does your website generate income?
Ebook sales, Adsense and affiliate programs. I plan to sell my own brand of relaxation music in the near future.

Q. How do you collect payments for your products or services?
I use PayPal for collecting payments and use the services of E-Junkie to automate the delivery process of products.

Q. What promotion methods do you use?
Custom RSS feeds, Trackbacks, articles (iSnare, EzineArticles), Aweber autoresponder relaxation course.

Q. Which method has proven to give you the best sales results?
Article marketing, although I need to do more tracking.

Q. Which method of traffic generation has proven to be the best for you?
Article marketing.

Q. What is your biggest challenge each month?
Having to continually add new material.

Q. What's the biggest mistake you've made since starting your business?
Not learning how to write effective copy!

Q. How has your lifestyle changed since you started your online business?
I have a new added interest and I feel like I am creating something for the future.

Q. How has your SureFireWealth.com membership helped you with your online business?
SureFireWealth provides loads of related content that I can use on my site as incentives to join mailing lists, freebies or even to sell. I am a gold member and very impressed with the sheer volume of ebooks, courses, audios, etc, that are available on the site. I could spend every day simply browsing through the products (but then I'd not get any online work done!).

Q. What would you say to someone looking to start a website in the same niche as you?
Research, research, research!
Don't just rely on keyword research, use market research to find out if and where buyers are located.
Also, try to find a unique angle to enter the market (I'm going to be promoting my music - totally, 100% unique!)

....................................................................

Thank you.
