Getting there..., August 25, 2007

The Positive Conflicts website is a very simple one. It consists of a straightforward sales page with all the necessary elements: ordering information, the sales letter, a sample e-book you could get for free, a second page that could give you a look as to what the site or product can do for you. The second page which contains some pretty hefty content, while simply being a sample and not the actual book/course, can really make you think about yourself, your relationships, and how you deal with conflicts, too. It's a promising and, like I said, pretty straightforward website. It probably would have been nicer if the person behind this created an About Me page as a way to introduce himself to the readers and boost their confidence in his wisdom and credentials, as well as some other sections just to keep the visitors occupied and possibly even informed.

Good marketing, but can still be improved, August 27, 2007

Well-said, although could be better. The headline is eye-catching though a bit long. That the offer is written conversationally in letter form makes it personal and appealing – not to mention that the e-book is free! The testimonials for the free e-book, though, are a bit too general and do not go into detail on how the e-book helped them.
Also, the assurance at the bottom that your e-mail address will not be given away may just make the difference on whether you download the e-book or not. However, the “click here to simply continue reading” at the bottom may not be enough motivation for readers to go on to the next page – the page of the e-book for sale.
With regards to the overall look, the website’s colors and layout are quite well-done. The use of shades of blue and the logo give it a professional look. My only complaint is that there is a bit too much information in the second page – I had to scroll down several times. Though the author may want to put every glowing testimonial about his book, he need only choose the best ones to trim the information down.
