Q. Please tell us a little about your background. I have a masters in business and have been teaching college level English overseas in both Vietnam and Thailand. Alternative energy is a big issue right now and we have important questions facing our future. Biodiesel has always been a passion of mine and more and more people were asking me for help on projects. I built the web site as a means to answer to questions and give something back.
Q. What made you decide to start a website in the field? Passion...pure and simple.
Q. What kind of research went into this niche area before building your website? 2 months of extensive background work choosing the niche and the profitability of it. I have made almost zero on affilate sales, but have made decent (considering the age and number of visitors to the site) money with adsense.
Q. How did you design and build your website? A combination of MS FrontPage and Site BuildIt
Q. What software do you use to run your business? Nothing. I use SiteBuildit for that. It contains everything.
Q. How does your website generate income? Mostly through Google Adsense
Q. How do you collect payments for your products or services? To date it has never been an issue. Google pays like clockwork.
Q. What promotion methods do you use? SEO, and some (very little) pay per click at Enhance.
Q. Which method has proven to give you the best sales results? SEO...no doubt.
Q. Which method of traffic generation has proven to be the best for you? Search engine optimization
Q. What is your biggest challenge each month? Finding new, releveant, content and getting in the top 5 of search engines
Q. What's the biggest mistake you've made since starting your business? Not starting sooner
Q. How has your lifestyle changed since you started your online business? No, not really
