Good start, but needs work, April 24, 2007

I had no idea what hairwraps or hairbraids are when I went to this site, and I still ended up not knowing about it when I exited. I only looked it up elsewhere to find out what they are. It might be a good idea to have a section in the site explaining what they are, for those of us who don't know what it is. Of course, if it aims to draw in people who already know about them, it would help to give some extra factoids about hairwraps/braids.
Design-wise, this site could use some help. The alignment of images and texts, for example, need fixing, and even the text needs to be redone. I viewed this in Firefox, and it looks like a lot of the text is cut off by the table. The shopping cart page is nonexistent, which would have been troublesome, but it's a good thing that the product page has an 'add to shopping cart' option which appears to work. Overall, this site can still be improved a lot.

This site was not what I expected, it lacked information and I left the site not learning anything. I’m familiar with hair wraps and was excited to learn more, the information just wasn‘t there. More information and content on home page would be valuable for visitors. There are some strong visuals that are nice, but it doesn’t all work well together. Some tweaking on design and layout could enhance some of the strong points and be visually pleasing and memorable.

What first caught my attention here are the bright and lively colors and photos here – very fitting, as hairwraps/braids are indeed colorful. The website, in fact, used color themes present in the photos of the hairwraps/braids here. My only nitpick about the layout in the homepage is that there is too much space in between the two photos of the hair wraps. The navigation bar could also have been better organized, with categories and subcategories. What is also lacking is a “contact us” option.
Looking at content, the products are well-described with accompanying photos. Prices are clearly indicated. The products are not only for those who want to buy materials to make their own hairwraps/braids – for those who just want the finished product, there are available items as well. I would appreciate, though, if there were just a little bit information on how to make hairwraps/beads.
