Q. Please tell us a little about your background.
We have started a small company based on a Ranch we run. The Ranch has several attractive aspects, Gold, Hydro Power and Blueberries. It makes for interesting traffic and a lot of curious viewing with good CTRs. (A lot of work too)

Q. What made you decide to start a website in the field?
We have an interest to balance our company cashflow with a diverse portfolio of assets, including Web marketing. That has proven to be quite a useful mix.

Q. What kind of research went into this niche area before building your website?
We approached it backwards, we had the Ranch, Gold niche and wanted to tell others about it. Because of Ranch work have difficulty getting enough time to add what we know into all our different sites.

Q. How did you design and build your website?
We started with Godaddy's "website tonight" as we continued to work we found that too limiting a hosting plan and converted over to a linux host and Dream-Weaver and Photo Shop. That way we could launch several sites for our use in more markets.

Q. What software do you use to run your business?
Excel, Word, Dream Weaver, Photo shop, Google tools, Keyword Elite, SEO Elite, Lots of Joel Comm books.

Q. How does your website generate income?
This site is based on AdSense plus an Affiliate program on ShareASale. Our other sites use various affiliate & AdSense resources to generate income. Some use Adwords some use Organic methods for traffic stimulation.

Q. How do you collect payments for your products or services?
Any way we can! Mail, E-deposits or whatever.

Q. What promotion methods do you use?
Adwords, YSM, MSN, Others, Organic SEO methods and secret search methods. ;-)

Q. Which method has proven to give you the best sales results?
Adwords and other secret methods (legitimate too!)

Q. Which method of traffic generation has proven to be the best for you?
It depends on the products and competition, Adwords is relatively controlled for initial data, from there we go in different directions based on what the data tells us. Always looking for that price point for best ROI.

Q. What is your biggest challenge each month?
Keeping all the data from campaigns straight and the cashflow positive month to month. Updates to contents takes us some time as well.

Q. What's the biggest mistake you've made since starting your business?
1. Probably not starting this business 3-5 years ago.
2. Taking a successful campaign up to full-speed too fast and not tuning for best ROI. (Impatience)

Q. How has your lifestyle changed since you started your online business?
Not much yet, because we are investing in the business with the proceeds. The plan looks good though, and Web marketing is one of 4 main cash generating regions for our company to expand on.
