Q. Please tell us a little about your background.
I have loved Dogs since my childhood. As a teen I worked for a Syberian Husky Kennel. 15 years ago I got my first dog. Now I’m the Marketing/Sales Manager for a very popular US dogfood, which we’re selling in Switzerland. I want to have my own Internet Business,and have the freedom to do what I like to do!

Q. What made you decide to start a website in the field?
Before I got the Job as a Marketing/Sales Manager I helped a lot of People solve the problems they had with their dogs. Problems they had with food, behavior, socialization etc. I love to help, with the Website I can give all my knowledge to a lot of people.

Q. What kind of research went into this niche area before building your website?
Keyword Research (I made a list of over 200 different keywords), competitors research

Q. How did you design and build your website?
First I started to write all the content I could without any research, just using my knowledge. Then I researched the internet for all the other Information and wrote the content in my own Words. After I had all the content I made the graphics and started to build a website.

Q. What software do you use to run your business?
Microsoft Word for the content. Online Site Builder from the Webhosting Compagny. Notepad for some easy html and php. SEO Elite for the search engine optimization and for the submission of my articles. Directory Submitter to submit my website to over 2200 directories. Blogger.com for my Blog.

Q. How does your website generate income?
Affiliate sales. Google Adsense. And now I'm starting to build my list for additional sales.

Q. How do you collect payments for your products or services?
Clickbank, Paypal

Q. What promotion methods do you use?
I have not done any Promotion yet.

Q. Which method has proven to give you the best sales results?
I don't have any results yet.

Q. Which method of traffic generation has proven to be the best for you?
Search engine optimization, writing articles, blogging, post comments in forums, some paid directories

Q. What is your biggest challenge each month?
Up til now it was to get my website online. And now it's to get a lot of traffic and start earning.

Q. What's the biggest mistake you've made since starting your business?
I didn’t concentrate on one project to finish. I purchased to many different ebooks about making money on the internet.

Q. How has your lifestyle changed since you started your online business?
It didn't change. I just work more then I did before I got my online business started.

Don't do it.
No that was just a joke, there is still a lot of space in all the niches. Also search a sub niche related to the niche you are looking for, because sub niches have  less competitors.
