The layout's fine, the content however..., July 05, 2007

I like the white and blue colors of this site, it makes everything look so clean. The layout is also pretty simple and makes the site easy to navigate, with all the sections neatly divided.
Anyway, WhatAreDiamonds.com focuses mainly on diamonds with the purpose of helping guests to the site learn more about picking a good engagement ring. If you take the website content as it is, you would think that it's all very well-written and very smart. I did a bit of checking over Google however and found that most of the texts here are really quite similar to a bunch of other diamond websites out there, which definitely doesn't help in making this site original. You would have to check all the different pages to find this out, though. Perhaps the site owner could have hired a ghostwriter to at least rewrite the content being used here just to make it more different from other diamond websites.

Make it more spectacular, August 23, 2007
Reviewer: Claire Madarang
The first thing that comes to my mind when I hear the word diamonds is the way they flash, scintillate or whatever way they dazzle the eyes. As expected, this website displayed photos of diamonds in the homepage. However, I expected the photos to be a bit “flashier.” The photo of different diamonds at the left is already ok, but the photos at the right are a bit dull in color. It would be good to make these spectacular but without distracting the site visitor from the text.
The information here about diamonds, particularly the trivia, is already quite interesting. The discussion of famous, historical diamonds here are also a nice addition. The 4 Cs of diamond quality, though, is probably the most useful information here for diamond buyers. The jewelry finder at the right side is also helpful.
The website is quite easy to navigate. However, I do not find a “Contact Us” button. An inclusion of one would be good for those who have queries or concerns.
