Q. Please tell us a little about your background.
A. I was an ASE Master Certified Tech., worked in Auto Dealerships, had my own Repair shop Aprox.30 years) and for the past 8-9 years have been doing Auto Inspections for a variety of after market Extended Warranty Companies
Q. What made you decide to start a website in the Automotive field?
A. I got interested in the internet and wanted my own web site so I decided to build a site around what I know best and see how it worked out, and also to be able to help others who may need information about vehicles, warranties, repair tips, buying or selling tips etc.
Q. What kind of research went into this niche area before building your website?
A. Most all of the research has come from actual experience and knowledge learned from 30+ years in all areas the Automotive business.
Q. How did you design and build your website?
A. I designed and built my site through and with SBI.
Q. What software do you use to run your business?
A. All the software and tools I needed to build my site is free with SBI, I just add a little HTML at times to add to the site.
Q. How does your website generate income?
A. Mostly through services I offer and some affiliate products.
Q. How do you collect payments for your products or services?
A. PayPal and a shopping cart that you can get at SBI.
Q. What promotion methods do you use?
A. So far I have been doing this part time and really haven't used any type of promotion but will be doing so soon as I am about to go full time and will need more promotion and possible affiliates to make a living do this.
Q. Which method has proven to give you the best sales results?
A. N/A
Q. Which method of traffic generation has proven to be the best for you?
A. I have not really used any type of traffic generation, I have mostly relied on a lot of content are utilized the search engines, this has worked very well for now but will need to use a traffic generator when I go full time so I can get qualified buyers to my site. At one tome I was in 2nd place on google, 3rd place on Yahoo and MSN for my key words and was in the top 2% at Alexa but haven't been promoting my site for a couple of months so have slipped way back. You have to keep working your site and adding new content to stay up on the search engines.
Q. What is your biggest challenge each month?
A. Right now my biggest challenge is having the time to work on my site.
Q. What's the biggest mistake you've made since starting your business?
A. I think the biggest mistake I have made since starting my business is not promoting it as I should and not going full time with it and devoting the time it takes to really be successful and make a good living with it.
Q. How has your lifestyle changed since you started your online business?
A. My life style hasn't really changed since starting due to not working site as I could, I know that I can do very well if I promote more and do less or close my off line business.

Q. What would you say to someone looking to start a website in the same niche as you?
A. I would say for anyone that is starting a website in my niche or any niche market is make sure that this is what they want to do, do their research, have good quality information, build a good solid base from which to draw from. And then just hang in there until you prosper and you will if you have prepared everything properly. And the last and MAIN thing "Be Honest" and treat visitors to your site with respect and answer any and all questions honestly and in a timely manner.
