Q. Please tell us a little about your background. I spent 8 years building websites for clients, designing and programming.
Q. What made you decide to start a website in the field? I've been crafting even longer than I've been a web developer, so it was natural for me to dedicate an entire site so people could find free resources, lessons and patterns that were hard to find for me, a web savvy person.
Q. What kind of research went into this niche area before building your website? Mostly my own research while searching for lessons on knitting, crochet and other crafts.
Q. How did you design and build your website? I used a CMS - Content Management System - Joomla and I usually modify free templates I find on the web, to suit what I want the site to look like. I've also purchased templates from time to time.
Q. What software do you use to run your business? -
Q. How does your website generate income? Google Adsense, amazon associates, affiliates and Handmade Crafts.
Q. How do you collect payments for your products or services? I use 2checkout.com.
Q. What promotion methods do you use? Search engines, banner exchanges, traffic generators, classified ads, directories, auctions.
Q. Which method has proven to give you the best sales results? Search engines.
Q. Which method of traffic generation has proven to be the best for you? traffic generators - auto surf sites.
Q. What is your biggest challenge each month? Maintaining traffic levels, increasing sales.
Q. What's the biggest mistake you've made since starting your business? Not dedicating enough time and resources to promoting the site.
Q. How has your lifestyle changed since you started your online business? It's more exciting. Every month you measure and see how your results turn into money. Small amounts at first, but they promise to grow.

Q. What would you say to someone looking to start a website in the same niche as you? Do your research beforehand. Be very organized with the data you acquire and keep trying to offer new and different things to your visitors. Loving the niche is very important so your visitors can relate and feel rapport.
