Q. Please tell us a little about your background.

I used to work in my own beauty salon, here in the UK. I would work from 9 am until 8 pm - dealing with clients, admin, staff, stocktaking and even cleaning from time to time.

Q. What made you decide to start a website in the field?

I was passionate about my work. I loved the contact with clients and the involvement in the beauty industry.

Coming home late from the salon I would still have towels to wash and dry to be ready for the next day. When I arrived home my family would want to share their own day with me, however I was often too tired to be bothered listening; in fact I was exhausted.

One day I was talking to a friend who told me she was building a website and it was like a light bulb being switch on. I could follow my passion online.

Q. What kind of research went into this niche area before building your website?

I talked to clients in my beauty salon and realized there was a need in them to be in control of their own beauty products. I did a bit of research to find out who the best company was to teach me about online traffic and discovered a company called Site Build It

Q. How did you design and build your website?

I bought a template and adapted it to my own needs. When I started I knew nothing about html let alone css files however I soon discovered it was not that difficult.

Q. What software do you use to run your business?

I downloaded free software called arachnophilia which is basic but enough for my purposes.

Q. How does your website generate income?

I generate income from adsense and selling ebooks.

Q. How do you collect payments for your products or services?
PayPal

Q. What promotion methods do you use?

I promote throughout my website, newsletter, facebook, twitter and articles

the slow method of building good content pages, linking, article writing.

Q. What is your biggest challenge each month?

to see how many good keywords I can find

Q. What's the biggest mistake you've made since starting your business?

to use keywords which I think people are looking for and not to research what people are really looking for

Q. How has your lifestyle changed since you started your online business?

I love working online and every day is a challenge which I enjoy. I no longer have to go to work but can work when and if I want. I have met so many different people and made some good friends on the way.
