The site hasn't been updated since around june-july last year, but i redid the entire look 2-3 weeks ago. The ads were placed they way they were (and in a way still are) simply to generate revenue. As we're slowly moving towards offers from travel companies instead, some pages are stripped from the big ad.
I like the picture idea. I'll definitely look closer on that.
