great product!, January 23, 2007 |
| Reviewer: Andy Immotna |
This product is great! I find it very convenient and easy to use.. It also comes with a tracker that can be uploaded in your server but of course it's optional...
But I recommend using the tracker if you really want to track clicks on your links...
For more convenient use of both scripts, here are the steps:
-Simply save a TXT file on your desktop (for easy access) with the tracker initial link which looks like this -
http://www.SITE.com/cgi-bin/track/tracker.cgi?ACCOUNTHANDLE
-Browse your tracker panel and enter the link you want to track and specify the ACCOUNT HANDLE
-Open the TXT file and replace the ACCOUNT HANDLE then copy the whole link
-Run the SmartLinks software and just paste the copied link. Then generate its HTML file then simply upload it in your server's folder! THere you go!
I suggest not to delete the TXT file on your desktop for future use so you won't be hard up recalling the initial link..
FOR THE TRACKER SCRIPT:
The problem only there is the bar images is not appearing.. What i did is to host the Bar images/graphics in another folder..
One more thing, when you delete an account handle, there's no BACK link to be back again to the Admin panel... What you do is to hit GO in your browser and enter again every now and then the password before goin back to the admin panel.. Guess that's what's yet to be checked/enhanced..

affiliate protection, January 30, 2007 |
| Reviewer: Karen Stavert |
I read the only other review and decided to download the software based on it...
The instructions began with "make sure the path to perl is set correct
in the first lines of admin.cgi,io.pl,tracker.cgi, and
variables.pl"
If you do not know what any of that means, it seems to go downhill from there.
This is NOT for the beginner. Not even for the intermediate (I think).
You have to really know your way around the inner workings of your computer to be able to set this up using the installation directions that come with the program.
I have another program that comes with video install instructions - that do not require you to know everything about your computer's inner workings BEFORE you can install this program.
Newbies, move on or make sure you have great support. |

Great Tool, March 18, 2007 |
| Reviewer: Faith Holler |
I love this tool.
I use this software a lot. I use it on my sites, I used it in viral ebooks. How many times have you seen ebooks with obvious affiliate links? And then don't click? I use this tool to brand them (when I can) with the "Recommends" links.
I found set up easy (once I read the direction lol) and the operation intuitive.
The only thing I don't like is that there is no link back to the main page. I have to use my back button and guess at how many pages back I need to go. The alternative is refreshing and logging in again and again and again ARRGGH! |

Sounds Like Good Software but ..., November 24, 2008 |
| Reviewer: Janis Searcey |
I would love to use this software, but when I try downloading it, I get a "Virus Is Detected" warning.
Anyone else having this issue?
