A Christmas Beauty,  November 19, 2007
The Graphics in the book are exceptionally beautiful with the wild ring of Christmas pealing from every page. As a give away book this is magnificent. As I give away several Christmas books already I know this version will be a sure hit as well. It will be treasured up for years by everyone you give a copy to.
The Christmas story inside the book has 91 pages, more than enough historical depth to satisfy all but the most devout humbugs.
The only glaring mistake I saw was on page 9..
"The story goes that Martin Luther King, seeing the stars shining through the forest .. "
Martin Luther King was more likely to have been strumming through the steel magnolias. He had little to do with establishing Christmas customs. Once the author corrects this typo this will be one of the best Christmas gifts you can give.

What a nice read in preparation for the holidays. You can pretty much get everything Christmas-related in this e-book, from recipes to pictures, wallpapers, poems, etc. But what really makes the whole thing a real treat is the information that is packed in the e-book. Take the time to sit down with this e-book and read up on all Christmas traditions, how it developed, all the customs, and much more. You'll learn a great deal about the holiday season and it is pretty interesting to be able to know about certain facts and details as well. There's an article for each day running up to the 25th, and that's quite a lot.

All in all, this is a very nice product, one that's perfect for the season. Grab this if you're particularly keen on knowing more about the season, if you have kids who want to know more about Christmas, or if you're simply up for some light reading that can put a smile on your face.

Lovingly Done!,  November 26, 2007
Reviewer: Lorie Therese Locara
To be honest, I think I’m the Scrooge of Christmas Forever! Since I acquired raging hormones, I hated Christmas, Valentine’s, Easter, and all the other happy holidays there are on the calendar. The only holiday I actually like now was Thanksgiving. That’s because Thanksgiving is the only thing that makes sense to me nowadays. But that’s not the point here.

I think this e-book rekindled the marvel of Christmas in me, because seeing the beautiful holly banner, reading the origins of the different celebrations and significant or formerly-significant dates on this e-book were reminders of my wonder at hearing the story that there was actually a guy named St. Nicholas who was pretty benevolent and then through the ages, he became Santa Claus.. And all the other poignant Christmas stories I’ve ever heard.

I like that this e-book pays homage to the traditions that we hold dear. And I like more the fact that this had been put together in a very detailed, meticulous way. In fact, I would dare say that this was lovingly done. And I am so surprised that this is free.

Maybe it’s the Christmas bug that bit Sharlee Plett. All I know is, it’s wonderful stuff. :)

A good book for the holidays,  November 28, 2007

This e-book is aptly called “Christmas Countdown.” Starting from December 1, this e-book presents interesting Christmas trivia on each day and a yuletide recipe on selected days. The candied white pine recipe in connection to the Christmas tree recipe sounds particularly unique and interesting for adventurous palates. The Christmas wallpapers are also a nice treat, conveniently coming in different resolutions for different PCs.

This e-book is Christmas in every sense of the word. The red and green theme, the photos and illustrations, and of course, the content – are all in keeping with the holiday cheer.

This e-book could be further improved, though, in terms of consistency in content and reader-friendliness. In terms of content consistency, the article on Lucia Day which is celebrated on December 13 should not have been set for the December 2 trivia in this book. Also, while the list of articles and recipes at the beginning are a good guide for the reader, page numbers should have been indicated.

Overall, though, this e-book is a good read for the holidays.
