eZine To Copycat, January 31, 2007 |
| Reviewer: Kosta Efstathiou |
Pros:
Giveaway Rights.
It's a well format eZine.
Cons:
It's a little short for an eZine.
There's no graphics or sales copy.
Bottom Line:
The content is good and well monetized. I say check it out in order to copy the format. Most of us have articles and/or eBooks that can be broken down into a series of related articles on a given topic. Take those articles and create your own topical eZine.

Overwhelmed with ads, January 31, 2007 |
| Reviewer: Earl H. Roberts |
The format of the book is professionally done. It is easy to read as the eye is almost sucked down the page. However, the full page ads bring a jolting stop to the flow of information.
In fact, after filtering out the full page ads and the part page ads you are left with about six good articles. These six articles are good. They are full of promise and appear to offer sound advice.
I believe newbies would even appreciate the advertising as it is tasteful and complementary to the content of the ezine.
I rate this download offer with three stars. |

| I think this one is a very cleverly made and designed publication. The layout will really make you think of a magazine, and it also makes room for ad spaces. What would have been the pages with full-page spreads in a usual print publication contained full-page ads with links to different websites and useful products. It has a very clean look, a factor which always scores big points with me. As for the content, Lucre definitely doesn't lack in that arena either, though it could stand to include two or three more articles. This issue dealt largely with email marketing and list-building and the articles are well-written and informative. I'm definitely looking forward to yet another edition of Lucre Magazine. It would be a lot nicer though if this is a monthly publication, since at the moment it comes out only quarterly, because it's very promising and helpful. Another positive point is that the publication also accepts contributors. This is something that's definitely worth getting regularly. |

Good content and layout, December 14, 2007 |
This is quite an informative issue. List building has always been a relevant concern among Internet entrepreneurs. The three cover stories are worth reading. The article on writing gift e-mails is also quite helpful especially for the entrepreneur who finds his or her sales declining.
Also, in terms of look, this is undoubtedly a magazine. Though not a print magazine, the cover and the layout (with all the blurbs) are very much similar to the print format. The table of contents, though, are clickable to make finding an article easier. I wonder, though, why there are not too much regular sections or columns as in usual magazines.
My personal nitpick is that a few grammatical errors have somehow slipped the editor’s notice. I would expect a magazine to be subjected to more editing compared with some e-books or newsletters as magazines are more “official” publications. The misspelling of “entrepreneur” in “online entrepreneur,” in particular, is very glaring in the cover and takes off points from the magazine’s professional look.
