There are days when you get jaded about Internet Marketing resources, and today was an “OMGWTFBBQ” (To use a friend’s crazy expression. And yes, the “BBQ” does stand for barbecue. :p) day for me. I had gotten so jaded that I will never find a worthy, “Eureka!”-inducing e-book anymore that I was nearly shocked out of my seat when I opened and read this one.
Yes, I’m serious. This e-book was so amazingly done, I had to exclaim that borderline-epithet expression up there. I cannot rave enough with this e-book, because:
1) It is soo true. You do need to work, and work your butt off in this Internet business.
2) The emphasis on mindset is very relevant to this business.
3) An outline of why Internet startups fail was a very salient cornerstone of this e-book. Highly helpful if you want to know how not to fail.
People seem to think that if you are an Internet Marketer, you can, to use some of Fabian Tan’s words, “party all night, sleep until noon, and then make a living in 3 or 4 hours sitting in front of a computer.” Fabian here makes sure that you realize that the Internet Marketing business is not all play. Neither is it all that easy. And yet, he presents solutions on how you can get your Internet business up and running. I particularly love the part wherein he points out that even if this is web-based, you still need a business model. And it is only so true.
I’m saving this in my resource folder for later, guys. You should too!

It probably sounds like a good product for Internet marketing newbies to consult, but actually, everybody could benefit from the wise words in this e-book. It can stress enough how important it is to be prepared, have a plan, and actually be in for a long hard slog. I love how this doesn't sugarcoat Internet marketing and instead emphasizes how much work you need to pour into your projects. It might scare away some people with an interest in Internet marketing, but that's their loss: This tells it like it is.
This e-book doesn't just tell you how Internet marketing works, but it also prepares you for the work ahead, and best of all, it arms you for the challenges you will face while trying to get your business off the ground. You would do well to keep the numerous advice in mind if you're serious about launching and growing your online business.

Internet Startup Secrets By Fabian Tan
Basic advice but with some gold nuggets, October 27, 2007
This e-book focuses more on the right attitude and mindset in setting up an online business rather than on technicalities. There are some practical strategies here, however, that will help your online business succeed and avoid the mistakes 90% of starting Internet entrepreneurs make. Much of the information here may already be known by others, but this e-book drives home the point and underscores the importance of basic principles in online business.
The author, Fabian Tan, also shows the importance of investing in yourself, how to do it and how it will benefit your business – and consequently, profits.
I especially found the section on the difference between working and making deals helpful. It helps you identify what tasks you should focus on to really grow your business – working smart as opposed to working hard. Working too hard is a mistake some enthusiastic entrepreneurs make.
My only nitpick is that the information is a bit redundant sometimes – in the first section, for example, the author talked about how success is not overnight and he repeated the same concept again though in different words in the second section
Overall, this is a very compelling and informative e-book.
