Freelance From Home - The 7 Things You Must Know Before Being a Virtual Assistant By Lisa Taliga
7 Clear and Concise Necessary Steps, February 20, 2007
Reviewer: MaryAnn Thompson
The tempo of the book is Clear and to the point. 7 steps that need to be taken to keep you focused for long term success. I especially liked that one is encouraged to always be aware to charge a fair and reasonable fee for your hard work. Most people are too eager to establish clients and in hast tend to undercharge for the work, which can lead to longterm shortages. The book gives good tips and stresses making and keeping an updated written plans/goals Plan. Much can be gained from this resource. The book inspires a person to realize all our hidden potential and talents that can be offered as a Virtual Assistant.

Being a virtual assistant might sound unusual for some people, so this e-book can definitely clear up any doubts and questions about the matter. The author is herself a virtual assistant and provides many tips and tricks to establishing a business in this way. She also offers extra guidelines by actively mentioning in practically each section another related e-book she has written, which you might also want to check out if you're serious about becoming a virtual assistant. Yet some of her tips can also be applied to those who want to set up their own businesses as well, and not just one relying on being a VA.
This e-book looks like it addressed each possible issue and question that may come up, and is written in an easy-to-understand manner. Overall, it's a very good source of information on becoming a VA and, come to think of it, freelancing as well.

Good read, but left me a bit hanging, December 31, 2007
Now that was brief but informative. In this short e-book, Lisa Taliga, a virtual assistant (VA) herself, was able to explain what a VA is, what the VA can look forward to, and what you should do before jumping into the fray and becoming a VA yourself.
As I understand that this e-book is a teaser to Taliga’s full and detailed e-book about being a VA, this is more about theory and principles than practice. That’s why, though I found this e-book informative, it left me hanging, although some might think in a good way – meaning, hanging and curious enough to get that full e-book. I wish, though, that Taliga could have given at least one case study here. Or perhaps a sample chapter would do the job. For me, that would be a more effective teaser for the full e-book.
That aside, though, this already gives good enough information, especially for anyone who’s considering freelancing.
