touch cellphone

Posted on 2009-Aug-21 at 05:11
The traditional art of drawing could see a renaissance helped by the boom in touch-cell mobile phones following the launch of Apple’s iPhone in 2007, says British artist Derrick Welsh. “The touch has tipped, and drawing messaging is where touch leads,” said Welsh. It could also create the next money-spinner for mobile operators, for whom text messages are still the key data revenue generator in 2009.To promote drawing on phones, Welsh — whose mobile paintings have been downloaded some 500,000 times from Nokia’s mobile-sharing service Mosh — is planning a drawing tour across Britain, to visit art venues, universities, schools and nightclubs.

“Fine art drawing and painting are drenched in tradition, but all children draw — as with the transformation that is happening to the rules of photography, the overwhelming majority of people who now take photographs no longer consider themselves photographers,” Welsh said.

“One day maybe the use of drawing will change as children grow up with drawing as an instant communication option.”So far there is little that’s “instant” in drawn messages — they have to be downloaded through an Internet browser on the phone or sent as multimedia messages (MMS) from one  Chinese mobilephone to another.

“Currently, nobody trusts the networks as everyone knows a horror story or two to put them off being adventurous on the web from a mobile, and parts of the world don’t have it,” Welsh said.A few years ago MMSs were expected to be the next big thing for mobile operators, but they have gained only a limited following among consumers due to technical glitches and some  chinese cellphone wholesale    like the iPhone do not even support them. Welsh, who has used Nokia’s Mosh service to study people’s interest in drawings on cellphones, says a simplified way of communicating through drawings was needed, and the potential could be surprising.

“A favorite story I heard while talking to many people was of a grandmother in China wholesale phone , who had all the usual methods to communicate with her grandchildren and she chose fax, because she could draw and then receive pictures from them,” said Welsh. In addition to touch screen devices Welsh himself uses different technologies for his drawing, pictures in the posting are made with a Nintendo’s Wii remote control, which has been linked with Nokia’s N95 8GB phone.

surveillance equipment

Posted on 2009-Aug-20 at 09:06

CCTV surveillance equipment, also called a CCTV camera system, is a visual surveillance tool developed for monitoring various environments and activities. An important advancement in the security and surveillance field, many businesses stand to benefit from installing CCTV (closed circuit television) in their stores and offices.

Modern CCTV surveillance equipment involves CCD (charge coupled device) video cameras, cable or wireless transmitters/receivers, and monitors. The equipment does not transmit TV signals to the public, but broadcasts them over to limited monitor(s). Video cameras are operated remotely from a control room.

CCTV’s sophisticated technology assures picture clarity, night vision, computer-aided operation, and motion recognition facilities that permit the operator to instruct the system to go on red alert when anything moves into view of the cameras. Camera systems increasingly use bullet-proof casing and automated self-defense mechanisms, which ensure that cameras sruveillance  under assault are covered by adjacent cameras.

CCTV surveillance equipment plays an important role in crime control policy, social control theory and ‘community consciousness’. Studies show that the use of CCTV systems reduces crime rates. Once burglars find that an area is under observation, they are less likely to indulge in criminal activities.

CCTV systems are used to combat ‘anti-social behavior’, such as littering, urinating in public, traffic violations, obstruction, drunkenness, and a host of such activities. This technology is also a good solution for such problems as vandalism, drug use, drunkenness, racial harassment, ***ual harassment, loitering and disorderly behavior.

CCTV surveillance equipment is available for indoor, outdoor, and even underwater inspection requirements. Time Lapse VCRs, combiners, infrared illuminators, and Pan/Tilt figure among the CCTV surveillance equipments. The web camera servers, the most recent development, use the internet for remote surveillance.

In a world with increasing crime and criminals, CCTV surveillance equipment has turned into an icon for security.camera e-SurveillanceEquipment.com Surveillance Equipment provides detailed information on Surveillance Equipment, Video Surveillance Equipment, CCTV Surveillance Equipment, Spy Surveillance Equipment and more. CECT mobile phone

Posted on 2009-Aug-18 at 07:37

If you’re in China, and you’ve got a case of iPhone envy, you really don’t have any other option than to go the knock-off route. CECT i9 , one of the most prolific rip-off artists in China (the world?), has released another Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) iPhone clone. Apparently, the CECT P168 wasn’t enough for the clone factory, they had to have another go at the iconic Apple iPhone. The CECT 599 CECT rips off the Apple iPhone, again CECT 599 rocks a slightly smaller 3.2 inch 240×400 touchscreen display, but loses the navigation hard keys in favor of a more iPhone-esque minimalistic style. For about $150 USD, you get Bluetooth, 1.3 megapixel camera, stereo speakers, and the ability to play video files (but only as big as 176×144 pixels) – all in a 90 gram body.

this is one fine looking iPhone knockoff – more so than CECT’s previous attempt. It’s definitely a great deal, but if you really want that iPhone fee, you’re just going to have to get an iPhone – like a Porsche, there is no substitute. Of course, Chinese iPhone hopefuls will have to wait a year or so for their chance at iPhone glory – so this thing might be their best bet.

cect phoneFor those of you interested in getting one of these phones, I found a number of them on sale at eBay CECT rips off the Apple iPhone, again CECT 599.

Read on for more pics of the CECT 599 in all its glory.

cect mobile phoneMore rumored launch dates for the Canadian mobile aficionado today. BGR has reported some upcoming launch dates for some new TELUS (NYSE: TU) devices. Namely, the BlackBerry Tour and HTC Snap. Both of these should launch on July 15th, with the  CECT hiphone  follow that up on the 21st.

This information mostly jives with what I’ve heard and reported previously, so I’d expect these dates to be accurate. Pricing for the BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) Tour will be set at $249.99, and the HTC Snap will hit us at $29.99 (on contract, of course). No details on other pricing options (other contract options, or outright purchase) but I’m sure we’ll hear more on that soon. For what it’s worth, BGR has also heard rumblings that the Touch Pro2 will go for $249.99 on-contract as well. Seems about right.

portable speaker

Posted on 2009-Aug-17 at 06:35

To put the word "audiophile" in the name of your product is a bold claim indeed, but that's exactly what Soundmatters did with its FoxL Personal Audiophile  portable speaker. This travel-friendly speaker is among the most compact we've seen, and yet it manages to offer exceptional range and clarity--not to mention a tight low-end. However, you'll need a wired connection to enjoy the speaker's audio capability. The FoxL comes in a Bluetooth model ($249) and a standard version ($199), but we don't recommend dropping the extra $50 for wireless connectivity.

As mentioned, the FoxL Soundmatters speaker comes in two models: one with integrated stereo Bluetooth and one without. The Bluetooth version offers the added bonus of wireless connectivity with aaudio device that operates on the A2DP Bluetooth protocol. (Examples include thecreative speaker , and many smartphones.) It also offers a built-in mic for making and taking hands-free calls. Both models feature an internal Li-Ion battery rated for a rather paltry 5 hours of play time. The package for each includes both an AC adapter and a USB cable for charging. There's also a 1/8-inch stereo-patch cable--with gold-plated straight plugs at either end--for attaching an audio source to the speaker. And to get the best audio quality, this is the method we recommend, even with the Bluetooth version.

Wireless is all well and good, but nothing beats a good-old corded connection when it comes to sound quality. The Soundmatters FoxL Personal Audiophile Loudspeaker speaker is capable of an impressive audio response given its size (and as well it should with "Audiophile" actually in the product name). This is no doubt thanks to the two 1-inch-in-diameter Linear Magnetic Drive "Twoofers" (tuned to 100Hz) on the front, combined with the mp3 speaker  radiator on the rear. The FoxL offers exceptional clarity, with plenty of detail on the high end, and mids are smooth and warm without being overly forward. Bass, while not super thumping, is tight and present...and you will feel it if you're touching the surface the speaker is sitting on. We'd recommend hooking up an external subwoofer if you really want boom, though. Stereo separation is not on par with what you will get from two separate speakers, but this little unit sounds surprisingly open, and you needn't necessarily sit directly in front of it to enjoy the music. (It also gets rather shockingly loud.)

We paired the Soundmatters FoxL mb Personal Audiophile Loudspeaker with a Blackberry Storm in order to test the Bluetooth capabilities. Pairing was a mostly simple and quick process, though you may want to note that the Bluetooth button on the speaker feels unresponsive. It actually works fine--just make sure to follow the instructions buy speakers . Unfortunately, sound quality deteriorates noticeably over the wireless connection: high-hat cymbals and other high frequency sounds came through with some static, and music suffered from a bit of distortion on the whole. Because of this, while we highly recommend the Soundmatters FoxL Personal Audiophile Loudspeaker, we don't suggest you spend $50 more for the Bluetooth connectivity unless you really loathe wires.

smart phone

Do you pride yourself on keeping up with the latest technology? A ’smart phone’ offers many bells and whistles over traditional smart phones,  including GPS, sending and receiving email, surfing the internet, watching movies or other videos, and listening to music. You may choose a smart phone because it offers business productivity advantages, or because of its entertainment value. You may also want a smart phone because it is the latest and greatest cell phone technology available. These advanced features are great to have, but usually result in a much higher price tag for smart phones over other cell phones.

http://www.gsdbuy.com/smart-phone-c-1_7/

Most smart phone models, including the Blackberry and the iPhone, among others, are very popular. When first released, you may see long lines of people waiting to get their hands on one. Even for several months or years after their release, they may still be top-of-the-line, meaning that the cell phone carrier will not often offer a price break for them, unlike with other, less-popular models.

If you want a smart phone but don’t want to pay the high prices of a new phone straight from the cell phone carrier, or you don’t want to be tied to a specific cell phone carrier, consider a used, refurbished, or unlocked smart phone. One of the myths of buying a  Chinese smart phone is that the limited quality and high demand means that the only phones available are those through the carrier, but this is not true. Even from the day that the phone is released, used, unlocked, or refurbished phones may be available, and buying a used T-Mobile Blackberry or smart phone is much less expensive than the same phone straight from the provider.

Refurbished smart  cellphones are one of the best ways to get a nearly-new phone at a substantial savings. Refurbished cell phones are those that are returned for various reasons. Usually, they are still covered by the original manufacturer’s warranty. They have been carefully looked over to ensure quality. Some may never have been used at all. If the package has been opened, the phone can no longer be sold as new. These refurbished smart phones and iPhones offer all of the reassurances of buying a new phone, without the high cost.

GSDBUY smart phones usually become available once the phone has been released for awhile, as the original owners upgrade to newer versions or decide that smart phones are not right for them. These range from cell phones used just a few days to those that were heavily used. When buying a used smart phone, look for a warranty. A used or refurbished smart phone is a great way to get the latest technology and all of the features of such phones without paying the high prices typically associated with these phones.

An unlocked smart phone offers many benefits over one that is tied to a specific carrier or network. If you choose an unlocked version of a popular  windows mobile   phone, you’ll be able to choose the network, rather than being tied to whichever network has worked a deal with the phone’s manufacturer to be the exclusive network for that phone. The vast majority of smart phones sold through the cell carrier are locked to that particular network; a locked phone cannot be used with any other carrier, but an unlocked phone

optical mouse

Posted on 2009-Aug-14 at 08:57

After FINALLY getting the MacBook Pro that I have wanted for so long I now find myself having to shop for some accessories and must haves. First on the list is a mouse. The pad on the  wireless optical mouse and I do all right with it but I’m so much more comfortable with a mouse. Actually, I’m most comfortable with a trackball but getting something that big sort of defeats the whole idea of portability.

Logitech G5 Laser Gaming Mouse Revision 2

After looking around and touching every  optical mouse that works with OS X I could get my hands on I finally bought a Logitech MX310 Optical Mouse. It’s a nice looking mouse, all silver and black. It’s extremely light, which was a must since it will be in a laptop carry case. It’s got a sculpted design that will work for left or right handed people and it fits my hand comfortably and naturally.

It has a total of six buttons in all. I love the quick switch button that lets me move around between all open applications and documents, and I also love the forward and back buttons on the side. The mouse glides along, even on my old cloth Winnie the Pooh mousepad. The built in scroll wheel is very smooth. The mouse connects to the ps2 or usb port.

If you’re looking for an inexpensive mouse for home or for travel, I highly recommend the Logitech MX310  3d Optical Mouse. I bought it on sale for $24.99. The mouse retails for approximately $29.99 and is available for purchase in mass retailers and online.

mp3 player

Posted on 2009-Aug-11 at 08:37

The first in our list of favourite cheap MP3 players is Creative’s Zen Stone Plus. Although the simpler version — the Zen Stone — is cheaper, the Stone Plus offers a wealth of extra features and a screen for what is still an incredibly low price. We loved its sound quality and its affordability, and strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a tiny MP3 player with a massive sound.

Next up is SanDisk’s Sansa Express. This little chap has a USB connection built in, so there’s no messing around with cables. You can organise files easily within Windows and it offers great overall sound quality. Interestingly, there’s also a microSD card headrest dvd player slot in one end, meaning you’re free to expand the player’s internal memory as your music collection grows. Its little screen and navigational keypad are easy to use, too.

Sony’s NW-E013 offers a meaty and bass-driven sound. But the most notable feature of this player is its incredible battery life of 30 hours, especially in comparison to other players of the same size. The downside here is that there’s no drag-and-drop management of files — you’ll need to use Sony’s awful SonicStage software to organise your music collection.

Finally, how could we forget Apple’s iPod Shuffle? In its original incarnation it inspired a paradigm shift in the wrist watch cell phone world with its screenless form and ease of use. Now in its second generation, the Shuffle remains an ultra-stylish and accessible player but remains at the pricier end of the ‘cheap’ market.Creative Zen Stone Plus SanDisk Sansa Express    Sony NW-E013   Apple iPod Shuffle (2nd gen, 1GB)

Portable MP3 Players have taken the world by storm primarily owing to its compact size, solid-state technology and large memory capacity. Portable MP3 Players enjoy distinct advantages compared to portable music players chiefly bluetooth headset  because there is no room for Portable MP3 players missing whether the user is taking a bumpy car ride, having a jog or cycling on an uneven road or path.

First, MP3 files are prepared on a PC by either downloading songs form the Internet, compressing music from a CD format or ztc mobile phone producing its original source on MP3 software. Compared to CD Players, Portable MP3 Players have solid state memory that determines the amount of data they can store.

Like a Flash drive, Microdrives can carry anywhere from 10 to 15 times media clearly making the MP3 Portable Players a musical powerhouse.

M830

The M830 looks more like an egg instead of a watch, being rather huge and tacky in nature. Well, I suppose this will appeal to the more juvenile group, but businessmen in their expensive suits will probably avoid this like the plague. What makes this stand out is the 18k gold-plated accents that make this look something like a reject from Iron Man’s labs. The M830’s range of functions include :-

Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity1.5″ color touch screen LCD displayQuad-band (GSM 850/900/1800/1900Mhz)microSD CECT M830  memory card slot1.3 megapixel cameraAudio and video playback

M830 Cell Phone Watch

This phone was recently launched in South Korea and it is likely to be a big success. Reading this, the natural response would be what makes this phone so special? Well, this is one of the very few phones which is WiBRO (wireless WiMAX) enabled. Along with that v2 watch phone  it is a phone with pretty decent features. In South Korea, this phone is launched by SK Telecom, which is the one of the leading WiMAX provider in South Korea. If you are wondering whether or not this phone will be available in the other markets, well nothing can be said about that right now as Samsung doesn’t have any immediate plans of launching this elsewhere.

The most appealing feature of this phone is definitely the exciting WiBRO connectivity, this allows you to access Internet from anywhere at lightning speeds. Move over v2 3G as mobile WiMAX has finally arrived at the big stage and is definitely here to stay.

Mobile WiMAX is still a little alien to the users, but this phone should put to rest all their doubts about the creditability of WiMAX. The main advantage of WiMAX is its M810 range, and WiMAX will definitely oust Wi-Fi very soon. As for the phone, it’s a complete package and a must-buy for all net-savvy people who need fast internet even on the go and it doesn’t get faster than this.

luxury phone

Posted on 2009-Aug-9 at 08:00
You know the drill, by now; I wheel out another luxury phone for us to look at, we point and laugh at the price, I mither about them having rubbish features then say “er, no thanks,” and we all go home happy. Think back to the Vertus I’ve looked at, and the Motorola Aura, if you need reminding how I feel about this particular class of phone…

However, this may be the part where I eat my previous words, because at long last, after 8 years in this business, I’ve found a luxury mobile phone I actually like the look of!

Now, I could go on about its features, because unbelievably for a luxury phone, it has some. It does appear to be a proper smartphone, with a 2.8 inch, multitouch screen, full email and internet clients, plus WiFi, and a 5 megapixel camera that appears to have an LED flash. Sure, it’s no Iluxury mobile phones  , but if you compare it to phones like the Vertu, it wipes the floor with ‘em.

I could go on about the build quality, that looks to be better than most other mobile phones I’ve come across. It really does come across as the Bentley of the mobile phone world (but one of the good Bentleys, not one of those where the wheels fall off Instead, I’m going to use a phrase I never, ever thought I’d use in my entire life, ever. The Ulysse Nardin Chairman appears to be a luxury phone that will actually save you money in the long run.

Hang on, I need a minute to get my head round that idea…The reason it may actually save you money is because it’s charging cycle isn’t entirely reliant on it being plugged in the wall. You know those gold phones that have a little kinetic rotor thing inside, that produces energy to pump into the battery when you move the watch? Same thing here, with a kinetic rotor thing inside the phone. Look, you can see it on the back of the phone, peeking through that window above the battery cover.

Therefore, it shouldn’t need charging form the socket as much (since moving the phone will give it some power), and therefore, it’ll save you a bit of money on your electricity bill. Not a lot, but every little helps, as the famous philosopher Bob Hoskins said in them adverts. Oh, and it’d probably help you reduce your carbon footprint, yadda yadda, and so on.

So, now, I’m forced to get my head round the concept of an diamond phone, that I actually like, and that I actually reckon could be a good buy, and that looks gorgeous.

I think my head’s going to implode…

Still, you can guarantee it’ll be out of my price range (as they say, if you have to ask how much it is, you can’t afford it), but hey, pipe dreams, and all that…

I mentioned a couple of reasons why I like the myTouch 3G predictive samrt phone   to the iPhone keyboard and contacted T-Mobile to try to find out a bit more about what is behind the technology. I met with T-Mobile representatives a couple of weeks ago and mentioned what I heard from them on MOTR podcast 179, but received a few more details that add a lot to the story and I think you will be quite impressed with what is going on here.

Back when I was an officer in the US Coast Guard I signed up for banking with USAA Federal Savings Bank and it was probably the best financial decision I ever made. USAA is a bank designed for military members and has a ton of awesome services for those on the go. I have only seen one physical branch in my entire life and all my banking is done remotely. USAA was one of the first banks to launch an iPhone application and according to the smart mobile phones    an updated version will be launched this week that lets you take a photo of a check with the iPhone and have it deposited to your account.

This really is not that big of a surprise for those of us USAA members who deposit checks since we have been able to scan checks in and have them deposited automatically for a couple of years. I never mail in checks and after scanning them I just note on them they were deposited via the meizu phone service and then file them away. This updated iPhone application should be a faster and simpler solution than having to scan in the check’s front and back though and I look forward to trying it out.

The predictive text technology used on the Google Android devices is Google technology. The prediction you see in the video below (coming soon) is the device sending each character entered up to Google’s servers and calculating the likeliest possible words you would be typing based on key mapping. This is much like what you see when you start entering words in the Google search box, applied to the mobile environment. The likeliest word appears in bold with the actual word you type always being in the left most wm smartphone . As you move right you will see the less likely words appearing. If any words you see after enter letters is the one you intended then you can simply tap it and have it entered. Sometimes this happens after just two or three characters so you can save a considerable amount of time when entering lots of text.

There is also the ability to enter words manually into a custom on-device dictionary. I have added words like “palmsolo” to it and now as I enter text this appears just like other words as I enter text. So with the myTouch 3G you get the power of Google’s predictive technology along with the ability for customized dictionary entries.

Much like the iPhone took a bit of practice to get used to for maximum efficiency, theChinese mobile phone  method takes a bit of practice too. So far I am finding it to be very accurate and enjoyable on the myTouch 3G

usb hub

The first thing you’ll notice is the design Belkin has chosen for this hub: Its rectangular shape means it’ll take up less space on your desk than previous versions, while retaining the two top ports – useful for USB memory sticks and similar devices. The top ports are also spaced out a bit, so you should be able to connect larger USB devices without any problem as well. The device features an attractive white & blue color scheme – quite a departure from the usual gray, black and silver. Belkin also offer a usb hub  of the hub, if white’s not your thing.

As expected of a device with this price tag, the build quality is great: the materials feel very solid and smooth and even the power brick feels less cheap than other generic power adapters. The cable loop material is thick enough to be reass The only slight issue I encountered: The top USB ports were a little ’stiff’ at first, making it quite difficult to plug in a regular Apple USB cable. After a few times it did become significantly easier though.

USB 2. hub  obviously has performance rates and limits imposed by the standard itself, so you ask whether performance is an issue at all. Often though, you’ll see reduced throughput if you connect a lot of high-speed devices to a single hub. The 7-port Hub Plus performed tremendously though, even with 2 external harddrives, iPhone, digital camera, Logitech wireless mouse, iMic audio interface and printer connected.

The hub also comes with a power supply. Whilst you can use the usb port hub without power, you’ll need it to use (and charge) devices such as iPhones, iPods or USB-powered harddrives.

Belkin offer a lifetime warranty of this device and I was pleased to find a single folded piece of paper with all their technical support numbers in the box. Whilst this may seem like a given, a lot of manufacturers will bury that kind of information of their websites. I don’t expect needing a lot of support with 4 usb port hub, but it’s still nice to know it’s available.

The hub performs very well and will also help you to reduce some of the cable clutter on your desk. If you have a MacBook, it’s great to be able to just plug in a single USB plug and have access to all of your devices. Whilst more expensive than generic hubs on the market, it’s thought-out form, design and functionality are well worth it.

xphone

Posted on 2009-Aug-3 at 05:56

Admittedly, the iPhone clones and knock offs are a dime a dozen today. It’s so easy to get them confused or to forget which model contains which features. That’s because the manufacturers are rolling them out as fast as consumers have new xphone  demands in terms of what they want in a phone. This article will discuss one of the newer models – the Xphone – and will explain how it is different  or similar to other recent popular models.

At first glance, the Xphone is a lot like the original A88 or A380i because it is a tri band, dual sim, shake and tilt model that appeals a lot to folks who like the cool novelty features of these more trendy, current phones. Tri band will work for most all U.S., Canadian and North American carriers / networks. However, give a quick contact to your network to be sure.

If you aren’t familiar with shake and tilt (aka “shake control,” or “swing to the music”), it is a cool feature that allows you to advance songs or video only by shaking the phone. hello kitty cell phones   Likewise, the phone will always right itself no matter which way it is facing. It goes from portrait to landscape or wide screen every time you tilt it the other way.

The Xphone has the cool, loud, sharp speakers we’ve come to expect from the clones, as well as other of the other standards like internet or web browsing, a built in digital camera and web cam, full MP3 / MP4 capabilities, Bluetooth and an FM radio. It has the popular “flow touch,” “finger touch,” or “flow in and out” interface which allows you to edit photos or scroll through a screen or files using only your fingers.

It is also a dual sim standby which means cheap bluetooth   that you can have two phone numbers or networks online at once. The talk time is 200-320 minutes, depending on your network. The standby time is 150 -350 hours.

Probably the thing that gets the X phone the most attention is the fact that you can get it in so many colors and finishes. Most iPhone clones available today come in only black and silver. But you can get this model (in addition to black and silver) cheap bluetooth headsets   in red, blue, and gold. Many folks have found this ability to personalize the phone and its color appealing. It’s also a very user friendly phone.

It seems like there is a new iPhone clone coming out all the time.  I suppose this high supply is due to consumer interest and a high demand.  In today’s economy, it can make sense to have the flexibility of being free to chose your own low cost carrier without being forced to go with the network hawked by the phone you want.

In my opinion, the influx of clones onto the market has been favorable to consumers because the competition wrist watch phone   keeps the prices low and the amount of phones constantly coming out ensures that you’re able to customize your phone with the exact features that you want.
