I thought I heard that there were problems with the laws between the U.S. and Europe about the protection. What is it? Could you just explain. The reason for my question is that I work on several topics and I would not want my work is done to rien.Merci for your help.

Another type of "right" that I am seeing more and more often now is "Personal Use Rights" or PUR, meaning you can use it only for your personal use and not give it away, resell it, or transfer it in any way. In other words, it's just for you and no one else. You can learn from it, but nothing more (although that may be quite enough).

While your talking about Rights and Licenses you should mention a bit about copyrights. Like how you should always add the copyrights disclaimer, and always register your original work with the Library of Congress (US) or the UK version if there is one.
You know, just a mention.

Thanks Trevor,

You're right but since I saw that since there were 1.5 million results in google from the keyword "licencing" that I'd throw it in there along with "licensing" - 121 million results, "license"-845 million results and "licence"-108 million results.

The main thing was to explain resell rights and licence ideas :)

Hi,
Just a comment on the use of "licence", "license", "licencing", "licensing".
In English there are two terms: 'licence' which is a noun. 'license' which is a verb.
In USA English only the one spelling: 'license' which is used for both noun and verb.

Thus for both English and USA English the spelling 'licensing' is correct; there is no such word as 'licencing' - it is incorrect English, because it refers to the verb which is spelt with the "s" character.

I hope this helps!
