Q: What’s the best product to sell online?
Q: What’s the best product to sell online?
One of the most common questions that readers ask is “what are the best kinds of products to sell online?”
and sometimes…
“which is best… selling products directly or promoting other people’s products as an affiliate?”
From experience, the answer to the first question is always ‘digital info products’ because of a number of factors.
and these are just two of them…
a) low entry point (ie they cost little to create)
b) high demand (with the right product you can sell hundreds/thousands of products very quickly)
But there really is a ‘downside’ - Far too many marketers male mistakes when it comes to actually creating their own products - And a poor performer can really bomb you out (especially if you’ve spent a lot of time and energy creating it)
As for question 2
it gets a little trickier…
Promoting affiliate products seems like the easiest option for many - If you’re good at it you can make incredible sums of money -
But best selling products bring out many other marketers intent on selling it too and competition can be fierce…
That usually leads to expenses most people don’t calculate when they first decide to promote other people’s products.
And the thing is - creating YOUR OWN products doesn’t necessarily need to take up any more time than it does to effectively promote someone elses
Of course there are many ‘gurus’ who”ll tell you it’s easiest and ‘best’ to start off with affiliate products (usually followed by a link to their affiliate program)
- (yep that’s often an intentional tactic!)
But just promoting affiliate programs or even buying and selling the ‘rights’ to other people’s products has another (often overlooked) disadvantage…
While you’re promoting someone else or selling someone else’s product you are not effectively building your own “brand”
It becomes hard, if not impossible, to set yourself apart from the thousands of other affiliates and the thousands of other resellers out there -
Having a ‘voice’ really does count
and only your own products can help you do that properly…
That’s why I guarantee if you search around you’ll see that almost every well known marketer on the planet has their own product(s)
Why - Because they know how important it is to build their brand and to differentiate themselves from the ‘pack’

Many info products net as much as 75% to 95% profit on the initial sale after all costs have been deducted. And residual sales to established customers can offer 100% profit.
Informational products come in many forms. An info product can be a digital book (e-book” is the accepted term), a digital report or white paper, a piece of software, a website, a newsletter, etc. Any product that is informational or informative in nature can be considered an info product.
