There's is nothing more important to ensure long-term success and really have the ability to maximize your earning potential while at the same time reducing the amount of work time. Ask anybody that is doing this successfully and I'm sure they will readily agree.
So now you're all pumped up and ready to conquer the world with your new found knowledge. You start to apply all the techniques to build that powerful list but... after all the time you've put in to make it work... it doesn't. You've built it up, but it still doesn't make you any money like everybody says it should.
Frustrated, you might even be losing money because of the expenses to build the list, maintain it and any other cost associated with building an opt in email list.
You think over and over... 'they say the money is in the list', but it might only be for the chosen few who are building an opt in email list. They must knows something you don't because of your total failure to even profit from your list. So you just say forget it and go on to the next big thing that's supposed to be making people a bundle of cash on the Internet
But... I really want you not to give up on this idea, because I really feel the key to having the success you want online is in building a targeted email list. DON'T give up on this important piece of your business.. ever! Learn how to do it, but the right way like anything is the key to making it work.
So what's the barrier that keeps you from building an opt in email list that's holding you back to success? Well, there are many factors involved that need to be implemented to successfully building an opt in email list.
I only have room in this article to discuss one ingredient to the recipe, but this is a main ingredient that if you don't have and add to the mixture you will be pulling your hair out forever. And for some of us like me, without a lot of hair, it's not something I can afford to do (haha).
This all-important ingredient is the foundation for your success in building an opt in email list. I'll call it your mindset or the way you approach building a list. There are three very important mindsets that you need to implement in building an email list the right way.
1-Focus on quality and not just quantity.
If you have quality responsive subscribers your list doesn't have to be that big to really make great profits from that list. So the mindset is to go about adding only quality-targeted subscribers to your list.
I was listening to a well-known Internet marketer the other day that said they actually deleted a list of 2 million subscribers! Wow. That would be hard to do, but he said that they were so unresponsive that it was costing more money to maintain and market to that list than the profits they were receiving in return.
Let's face it, building an opt in email list the correct way is going to take the higher road approach. Sticking to the proper mindset during this process will give you the reasons why you are putting forth the effort and therefore will help you do it the way that will ensure your success.
2-Another mindset is having the approach that you have only ONE person on your list. When building an opt in email list many marketers talk to their list broadcasting to them like a news anchor giving the evening news on TV. Please....Don't do it!
Communicate like you are talking to each person on your list individually. You must connect with your subscriber and make them feel like you are just talking to them when you send out emails to your list. Let's face it; they really don't want to be on anyone's list just to be on a list.
They've joined your list because they feel you can help them out. They need you to help solve their challenges. Building an opt in email list means giving everyone on your list the feeling you are there just for them like you are right there talking to them.
Keep this in mind and implement it and you will have loyal responsive subscribers that will trust you and want to respond to what you have to offer.
3-Take the time to put together the optimal system to attract your perfect subscriber. Then you can direct your marketing efforts to drive prospects into this winning subscriber funnel.
Take a page from the life of Ray Crock, the founder of McDonalds. You've heard of them haven't you :-). This is a prime example of a man that built a great fast food restaurant. He developed it so he had the optimal experience for customers, hence optimal profits. And only then when he really had it rolling did he franchise it with a system that could be reproduced with the same results over and over.
So don't just have the mindset of just attracting any one on your list. Create a system to really attract quality prospects and then you'll have something you can do over an over to really build a great profitable list.
Some final words to wrap thing up. Building an opt in email list is done one person at a time. Don't try to talk to everyone, but focus on being personable and talking to one person at a time.
Actually imagine they are sitting right next to you and you are talking to them. That's the feel they should have when you are communicating with them. Don't try to fake it. Be yourself and don't try to act like you're a big company. Even if you are a big company, don't act like it. You will have more response when you are personable and treat your subscriber or customer like you care.
